Design Features

Cartridge-Style Battery

With this design you simply “slot-in” the battery for quick changeovers – not finicky lead to connect. The included battery features a capacity of 5400mAh, which powers the quadcopter for up to 30 minute

Elevated GPS and Compass

Both the GPS and compass units are mounted on a mast that is elevated above the rest of the aircraft to avoid interference from the radio systems

Fast, Toolless Assembly

Self-tightening props, snap in/out landing gear and slide on/off camera or gimbal installation all help ensure you get setup and flying in less time while being able to easily break the quadcopter down for transport

This is the Ready-to-Fly (RTF) version of the Chroma Camera Drone from Blade, which includes the ST-10+ transmitter/personal ground station combination. The ST-10+ enables control of the aircraft, monitoring of a live video feed, and can display telemetry data. It is powered by an embedded Android mobile device with 5.5″ screen. A 400-sized X-configuration quad, the Chroma is design to appeal to a range of users, form hobby fliers to shooters looking to capture aerial angles. To this end, it incorporates the CGO3-GB, a 3-axis gimbal-stabilized able to capture 4K video, 1080p video at up to 120 fps, and shoots photos at 12 megapixels.

A GPS-based flight control system – the brains that control the aircraft – enables varying degrees of autopilot redundancy, with options to accommodate pilots of every skill level. This feature is centered around Blade’s SAFE technology, which includes Smart, AP (Aerial Photography), Follow Me, and Tracking modes. Additional safety features include Return Home, which brings the aircraft back to the pilot at the press of a button, as well as adjustable flight boundaries to ensure the quadcopter stays within a specified range.

Also included in the bundle is a 5400mAh “cartridge -style” flight battery lasting up to 30 minutes along with a battery charger as well as an 8GB memory card for the camera.

CGO3-GB 3-Axis Stabilized 4K Camera

The included CGO3-GB combines a 12-megapixel, 4K camera and a 3-axis brushless gimbal into a single unit designed to capture stabilized aerial video and still images. In addition to 4K, the camera can shoot 1080p at 120 fps for slow-motion as well as 60p, 50p, and 48p. A built-in microphone enables audio recording and can be turned on or off via the ST-10+ or mobile app. Photos can be captured in JPEG or DNG RAW and it is possible to snap photos while recording video

For live view and remote operation, the camera features an integrated 5.8 GHz Wi-Fi downlink that enables operation and viewing from the 5.5″ touchscreen on the ST-10+ Personal Ground Station. You can also pair with a mobile device using the free mobile app – available at Google Play and iTunes app stores. The app or ST-10+ offer control over resolution, white balance, ISO, and shutter speed. A smartphone holder that mounts on the ST-10+ is included

The camera features a wide angle 130° FOV lens. While the gimbal that supports it features a control angle accuracy of ±0.02°. High quality video and stills are recorded to a microSD card up to 128GB in size. Low quality, upload-friendly versions can be saved onto a mobile device

ST-10+ Transmitter/Personal Ground Station

Transmitter (hand-held radio controller) and ground station system are combined into one device with the 10-channel ST-10+. It features a 2.4 GHz transmitter for joystick operation of the quadcopter. In addition, there is a 5.8 GHz-range receiver for the video feed from the camera plus telemetry data. Updates over the original ST-10 include a brighter touchscreen that is now 5.5″ in size. The screen plus embedded Android OS enable you to control the CGO2-GB+ camera as well as view a live feed from it, complete with telemetry data overlaid (OSD)

Note: The ST-10+ does not operate on the Spektrum DSMX protocol

Flight Control Modes

Smart Mode

While in Smart Mode, SAFE (Sensor Assisted Flight Envelope) technology engages the SAFE Circle which prevents the Chroma from flying too close to its pilot. When in a hover, GPS and altimeter sensors keep the quadcopter in a consistent stable position. The Stick Relativity feature allows the Chroma to follow the directional inputs from a pilot regardless of the orientation of the quadcopter

AP (Aerial Photography) Mode

For more experienced drone pilots. In this mode, the Blade 350 QX3 responds to control inputs like a conventional RC aircraft without Stick Relativity. It also gives the pilot more control authority by turning off the SAFE Circle and allowing steeper bank and pitch angles. This makes it possible to get faster panning and tracking shots when shooting high-energy, action video

Follow Me Mode and Tracking Modes

Follow Me Mode: Your built-in copilot. The Chroma follows you at a distance and altitude you set so you can focus on lining up the perfect shot using the yaw and camera tilt controls

Tracking Mode: Be the star of the show. The Chroma will follow and keep the camera pointed at whoever is holding the ST-10+ controller. This is a great way to capture yourself in action when no one else is around to fly for you

Note: These control modes only available when using the ST-10+ transmitter

Return to Home

Safe landings with the flip of a switch. The Chroma returns itself to the start-up point and lands for you. This is ideal for first-time flyers that aren’t quite ready to land themselves. It’s also a way to regain visual control if you accidentally lose sight in flight

Adjustable Flight Boundaries

Never fly beyond altitude and distance limits you define. This will help you avoid restricted airspace, flying over private property, or losing visual contact
